16 Energy Conservation Strategies This workshop is tailored to support members in understanding the sleep process, understand how sleep changes across the lifespan and what it means to have a "good sleep". Participants will work together to understand sleep hygiene strategies and how to implement them into daily life. Date(s) Day Time Sessions Sept 20 Fri 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. One-off This workshop will focus on building a routine to maximize energy throughout the day. This workshop will cover strategies on pain management and adjusting to changes in your health and your loved ones. Sleep Hygiene Routines & Activity Scheduling Date(s) Day Time Sessions Oct 11 Fri 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. One-off Enhance your knowledge about memory and build a "toolbox" of highly applicable memory strategies. This Memory and Aging series is an evidence-based memory intervention program for those who may be experiencing age-related memory changes. Participants will note increased satisfaction with their memory while learning to adopt lifestyle practices that support brain health and how to reach personal goals. Memory & Aging Date(s) Day Time Sessions Nov 6 Wed 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. 5 weeks, fixed to Dec 10 Exercise Neurology & the Muscle-Brain Axis The benefits of exercise in a wide variety of neurological diseases are well established. However, their exact mechanisms are still unclear. This lecture provides a basis for understanding some possible key mechanisms, discusses future challenges, and provides some practical recommendations. Explore various ways to keep your brain active and promote cognitive vitality, from observing your surroundings to engaging in interactive activities like reading, learning new languages, and taking up new hobbies.
